Steak w/Cola Sauce

Rachael Ray did it again with this recipe-I'd have never thought to use Coca-Cola in a sauce, but this sauce is rockin, Ian loves it! Cola taste is there but not overt. My only different spin on this recipe, is rather than grilling the garlic bread, I simply toast in the oven.

Sauce:
1 cup Coca Cola
1 cup ketchup
1/2 teaspoon ginger
zest and juice of one lemon
1/4 cup A1 Steak sauce

Mix all ingredients and cook in sauce pan at medium heat for about 20 minutes, til reduced to half the volume.

Preheat oven to 400. Press one or two cloves of garlic and cut up 8 pieces of italian bread, butter, add garlic. Bake for about 10 minutes or so.

Her recipe calls for rib eye steaks and cook in grill pan and then cut, but you can also use other cuts, cut up first into strips to make easier. Just don't use any round or chuck cuts, you want meat tender, not tough. Salt and pepper to your liking.

She also grills in pan w/steaks one red onion, but since I'm the only one in the house that likes onions, I skip this step. If you like em though, it's tasty.

Place the strips (and onion slices, if you make) on the garlic bread. Add sauce. I serve up as a quick side some portobello mushrooms that I cook up in a pan in a few minutes with butter.

Yummy! Or as Rachael would say, yummo!
